2005 Overall Club Champion
Bruce Barss, Nacra 5.2
Nov 4, 2005 - In the fall of 1993 I sailed a Hobie Cat at a resort in San Diego. Hooked. Came home and with the help of a friend I located a 1977 Nacra 5.2. The same friend pointed me to the Wabamun Sailing Club and Wanda and I joined up in 1994. Like most neophytes, I was intimidated by the rulebook but was eventually lured into the club racing. By 1997 I was awarded the trophy for Most Improved Sailor. I also have my name on the Turtle Trophy at least 4 times and wish they would retire the darn thing. Along the way the Nacra became christened the Catastrophe.
